biography of Emil Schult

    The well known artist and text Co-Author of the music group "Kraftwerk", was born in 1946 in Dessau as the son of a designer and mechanical engineer.

    He grew up in Catholic Kevelaer. In 1968 he began to study at the college of art Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, and finished in 1973 as the master pupil of Gerhard Richter and Joseph Beuys. Between 1972 and 1982 he worked with the music group "Kraftwerk".

    From 1981 to 1991 he lived with his wife and two daughters in the Bahamas and since returning has been living as a freelance artist in Düsseldorf.

    He made his first group exhibitions in 1970. This was followed by several book publications on the subject of art and teaching, and books of text and drawings. The last projects were a construction in 2001 of a room for the prime purpose of teaching church music, called the Krypta in the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf and the painting "Telecommunication" which can be found at the Siemens entrance in Munich (200 x 1200 cm).

    Emil Schult creates a repertoire of painting behind glass, which covers all aspects and themes of the 21. century.
